For a long time I hardly used the Volca Drum's capabilities, I'm actually just starting to do that now after a year.

I only used one part of that voice, just a sine wave with a little bit of fold and distortion... I ran that into a mixer with a little bit of low end boost, and the main mix went through a tube preamp - all that may have had an effect on the low end! That said I'm constantly impressed with how intense the Volca Drum's kick sounds can be
